Functional Skills are the basic skills that all people need to be able to operate confidently and successfully in work and life.

Everyone needs to be able to use maths, English and ICT to help them either in their personal life or progress into / in work. Keir offers these programmes from entry level, for those with basic skills up to level 2 for those wanting to progress. Note: Functional skills is a mandatory element of Apprenticeship programmes.

Includes Adult Care, Children and Young Peoples Workforce, Early Years Educator, Business Administration, Customer Service and Team Leading.

Adult Care (Diploma)

This course will enable you to develop the skills to work in the Health Care Sector.
Business-Administration-Course

Children and Young People Workforce (CYPW)

This qualification is suitable for learners, either working or wishing to work in early years education and care.

Construction (CSCS)

The CSCS course is designed to prepare learners for the Health, Safety and Environment test.
